Somali officials said a suicide bomber has killed one security personnel and civilian, wounding also three others in an attack in the capital Mogadishu on Sunday.
The Blast targets a checkpoint manned by the presidential palace’s gaurds very close to the country’s ministry of interior.
At least three people included a siucide bomber were killed in the attack according to police officer Mohamed Dahir.
“A car bomb driven by a suicide bomber attempted to force its way into the entrance of the interior ministry complex, but security forces in the area fired at it, said the officer.
The Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab group has claimed responsibility for the attack on its pro-website, somalimemo.net.
A witness Najib Muse said the attack occurred around 4:10 p.m. local time.
Ambulances raced to the scene to evacuate the wounded, he added.
